Reading Challenge

On Easter, 2006, Cornerstone began a one-year survey of the Bible from beginning to end.  This was a special time for our church family because so many of us were reading through the Bible at home in preparation for the Sunday sermons.  The series brought us together around a worthy challenge.  One of Cornerstone’s three Distictives (the Greatest Commandment) was developed during this series as we learned about God’s hatred toward spiritual adultery through the prophetic books.

From Jan 1 ‘09 to Dec 31 ‘09, Cornerstone is tackling another worthy challenge: to read 1000 pages of great Christian non-fiction.  Each book was selected for its direct relationship to Cornerstone’s Distinctives.  You will only need to select a few of these books in order to reach the 1000 page goal.

Colossians 1:9-12 “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”

In the comment section below, you can tell people what you’re reading, find out what they’re reading, and even form discussion groups if you want to!
